Joby’s flight research division is dedicated to developing novel aircraft designs and to the future of flight. As a staff mechanical engineer, I owned the design, development, and testing of various systems on several aircraft projects. My responsibilities included:
- Retractable landing gear — designed, built, and tested an electro-mechanical retractable landing gear system
- Mechanical systems — mechanical systems design and integration on a separate aircraft prototype
- Structure testing — structural test planning and execution
- Logistics — coordination and logistics support across programs
