I led the Tail and Effectors (nacelles, control surfaces, propellers) IPT with 5 direct reports.
Tail
Clean-sheet design to meet FAA requirements:
- Hand layup, Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), and machined parts
- Met mass target
- Delivered production drawings
- Passed structural testing for FAA certification credit

First conforming tail and structural test for FAA credit
Effectors
- Outboard Nacelles (single pivot tilt mechanism)
- Inboard Nacelles (linkage tilt mechanism), Patent: Rotor assembly deployment mechanism
- Control surfaces
- Propellers
